From the archives: The story of Pope St. John Paul II

On the 20th anniversary of Pope St. John Paul the Great's death, have a listen to the story of this great man's life, from The Popecast archives – the Pope St. John Paul II Supercut

Exactly 20 years ago today, high above St. Peter’s Square in the city he had called home for just over a quarter century, Pope St. John Paul II went to his eternal reward.

Back in 2021, I recorded “The Pope St. John Paul II Supercut” – a detailed account of the Polish pontiff’s life from birth to death – to commemorate his feast day and the 43rd anniversary of his ascent to the papacy.

It seemed fitting to re-share that story today, as we look back on the end of his life two decades hence.
